There is something beguiling about being in Paris, regardless of the weather and this visit we stayed in the cool funky district of Montmartre, with Sacre Couer sat above looking down and across the city to Montparnasse.
Hopping on the metro we headed to the River Seine via the Eiffel Tower for our afternoon picnic in the sun. Loaded with supplies we found a nice point on the river bank across from Musee d’Orsay where we watched the droves of holidaymakers happily clicking their digital pics from the river boats, whilst we just chilled with some bread, olives, salami, cheese and wine in the afternoon sun.
The short stroll down to Notre Dame and across Pont Neuf to San Germain to walk off our food while basking in the evening sunshine…….ah Paris.
Next stop England via the channel tunnel on a bus.
