Spanish architecture to marvel

Spanish cities and towns are known for having a huge placa or square in the centre and Valencia is no exception. The old city is surrounded by wonderful architecture and narrow streets that lead to the old city walls or river park. I call it a river park as this green basin once had a river flowing through the heart of the city and was re-directed many years ago by a nobleman and now leaves this huge park complex that people use for exercise, taking walks and hanging out.

This is a rather cool city to just stroll the narrow alley’s and wander round the fabulous antique and curio shops. Obviously, it attracts large numbers of tourists, but with a half decent beach, if you like pebbles, that is and somewhat grey water, the tourists also flock out to the sun and sand.
