You haven’t experienced a matatu ride until you’ve done it in Nairobi. For those not in the know, a matatu is a minibus taxi or in Nairobi, a converted Isuzu truck or pimped up bus! 

Well, we learned in Nairobi because it takes a special skill to hail a matatu. First you stick out your hand as the matatu approaches, then you stand out of the way at least 3 feet lest you get run over by your ride!

 

 
Duck while you jump in and find a seat. If you don’t duck you’ll find yourself with a head wound as both me and Fin has learned the hard way.
