I never thought that this would require so much research…surely I could just go into my local outdoor store and buy the one that fit and looked the best….the hardest part of our travel gear selection was the actual backpack itself.

Size: If it’s too big it will get full of stuff, (much like a ladies handbag!) and too small we won’t fit all our gear in it…40 litres it is.

Make: So what do we know about manufacturers of travel bags and in particular backpacks, website scrolling and reviewing we finally settled on Deuter.

Colour: Bright colours versus dark colours….well we don’t want to stand out too much, nor do we want the inevitable dirt on our bags to be there for all to see….so dark bags it is….Black
