Walking in these quiet streets of Flagstaff Hill, Adelaide I could see maybe four or five different Koala Bears in different trees, just lazing around, sucking on eucalyptus leaves, or just sleeping, their only other action from what I could see was the huge amounts of koala crap on the driveways of people’s houses below the gum trees. Nevertheless, to see these cute little bears hanging around with claws dug well in, as the branches swayed in the wind, was a cool sight.
Every five minutes or so I would ask Mark to stop the car when we were driving somewhere just to afford me a view of the little fellas (and ladies)……I think it just worked out better all round, that I go for walks in the evening for my daily intake of Koala Bears.
The crazy chirping emanating from other trees was not nearly as interesting for me, but seeing dozens of parrots sat in trees outside Mark’s house, just flying around, chattering to each other was quite amazing.
Good day mate. Did the Aussies not tell you that koalas are koala’s; are marsupials and not koala bears. They were very insistent about this when I was there.
