Bottom up Round the World

We travelled up from the bottom of Africa from Cape Town to Joburg using my air miles collected over many years of business travel, I knew they would come in handy…thanks South African Airways, although I had to pay R300 for airport taxes! On top of that our backpacks were meant to weigh 8kgs but with toiletries full etc we were more like 12,5kgs.

Lucky us were on a wide bodied 737 and everything smooth and loaded in the overheads. It was a bit warm in our vests, t-shirts, shell and rain jacket….and pockets packed….maybe we looked like the Michelin Man from the tyre company.

So our 2 hour flight was followed by about a 30 mins Gautrain trip from OR Tambo to Pretoria and pick up from Salomon and short drive to his home in Waterkloof.
